Welcome to Fabulous View of You aka FabViewU. This blog is about you. Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Barbara and I am passionate about health and beauty. This passion was sparked when I was a young girl during the times I spent at home and at my grandparent's home, in the Carolinas during Christmas break and summer vacations.
My amazingly gracious and beautiful grandmother, Mrs. Leola Mitchell was your classic all American woman who was a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a successful business owner, known as the "Avon Lady". No, literally. She was the face of Avon in her small home town and practiced what she preached, as she maintained a beautiful figure well into her sixties. She wore beautiful handmade dresses and always had some of the nicest lounge wear (from the city) in her closet. Lots of cool classic cotton house dresses with the robes, ribbons, and lace and cute bedroom shoes to match. She was a well dressed woman of God from head to toe. Always classy and elegant.
She drove a station wagon and had boxes and boxes of all sorts of beauty and skin care products inside. I loved to be there when the boxes arrived in the mail and she'd open them and go on her route to deliver her orders. During this time I would go thru the her boxes to see what goodies were inside. This is when I believe I fell in love with color, seeing dozens upon dozens of lipstick samples and bottles of fingernail polish, both bright, cheery and uplifting, sparked my interest in color and beauty. I remember the vintage pinks, corals, natural mauves, reds and browns.
Then there were those times when I was restricted to my room because of my bad behavior, I'd take my dad's tracing paper and drawing pencils and trace from my mother's pattern books. She had those big pattern books they sell in the fabric store. At that time Twiggy was a fashion icon and she was everywhere in the magazines. I loved to trace her pictures and the other's from the fashion layouts in my mom's sewing books. My mom also taught me how to sew very well.
As I grew up, my passion for all things beauty increased and only got stronger. After high school I realized a dream when I went to Scanners Beauty Academy, Cosmetology school. Instead of working behind a salon chair, I landed in the image consulting industry. I owned and operated an Image Consulting business. I learned to create a polished image from head to toe.
As I learned more about skin care, makeup and fashion I also begin to look more at health solutions, since you can't very well be your most beautiful self if you're sick. During my journey toward my brand I was introduced to some amazing miracle working products. Everything from my brother's brand of homemade lotions, soaps, and herbal remedies for pain, weight loss and more to products that were mass produced. Seeing such an array of wonderful prayer answering products was more than I anticipated. I mean health enhancing products really worked.
While adding to a line of beauty products, I begin studying more about these products that enhance health. As time went on, I begin to use these amazing products and realized that I had something very valuable and important to share with the world.
My goal here is to give you access to that information, about products and ideas that assist you and others in the process of finding that Fabulous View of You.
